KEY REQUIREMENTS:
•You must possess U.S. Citizenship or be a U.S. National.
•You must complete a favorable Single Scoop Background Investigation SS (BI).
•You must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
•You must pass Drug and Alcohol Screening, subject to random drug tests. 
•You may be required to complete a one year Supervisory Probation Period

DUTIES:
This Supervisory Telecommunications Specialist position is located in the Technology Solutions Division in the Office of Intelligence and Analysis (OIA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). If selected for this position, you will support mission programs within the Systems Management and Operations (SMO) group.  You will serve as a Voice Telecommunications Manager applying experience and comprehensive technical knowledge of IT to develop plans and techniques to improve programs and policies; perform multiple, varying and complex assignments under the minimal direction of a manager or executive.  The Systems Management and Operations group supports the Secure Flight Operations Center, which serves as the point of contact to the aircraft operations community. Typical assignments will include:
•Implementing policies and procedures for the OIA telecommunications operations.
•Conducting research, identifying problems, and developing and implementing solutions corrective action/solutions.
•Identifying and establishing requirements and priorities for current and future telecommunications electronics programs, projects, and equipment.
•Defining requirements and developing systems and equipment to meet specialized voice communications needs, to modernize and increase the communications capability of the operations, and to ensure comparability with TSA requirements.
•Integrating Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) technology as appropriate to meet the material and schedule requirements.  Assuring currency and compatibility with operational architecture.  Identifying, receiving, defining, processing, managing requirements, and developing systems and equipment to meet specialized communications needs in support of the Secure Flight Operations Center.
•Identifying communications equipment enhancement requirements supporting special operations missions, real world scenarios, and crisis activities.  Preparing specialized communications equipment support concepts through coordination with user communities and commercial vendors.  Translating requirements into communications systems design specifications and evaluating commercial vendor proposals for suitability.
Supervisory/managerial duties include serving as a first line supervisor; assigning work, setting priorities, and reviewing and evaluating work and performance of subordinates; approving leave; coaching and developing employees; recommending corrective or disciplinary actions; assisting in budget planning and projecting short-term needs; managing projects within assigned resources; and resolving problems. When required, you will coordinate with external customers.
