Pharmacist – Short Term Assignment Locums Assignment is to start 7/11/16 and is 6 weeks long For Balad, Iraq.
Job Description For Pharmacist Short Term Iraq:SCOPE:
The Pharmacist reports to and will be supervised by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) or his/her designee.
The Pharmacist will deliver services in a small hospital setting and will assist in the treatment of patients by dispensing drugs and related medical supplies under the direction of a Physician, Surgeon, Mid-level Provider or other authorized health care professional. A key role is ensuring the security of prescription drugs and pharmaceuticals and control of the pharmacy inventory.
All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which CHS is recognized.
Required Skills For Pharmacist Short Term Iraq:
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:
•Must have received a BS or Pharm D from a school of pharmacy approved by a state board of pharmacy or accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
•Four-year bachelor’s degree in pharmacy recognized by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education.
•Hold and maintain a current unrestricted U.S. (State) license to practice as a pharmacist.
•Must have a minimum of 6 years’ experience as a Pharmacist, experience in both a hospital and ambulatory pharmacy and knowledge and expertise in both outpatient and inpatient drug therapies.
•All health care providers and medical support staff must have recent clinical experience in patient care for at least 6 months out of the past year
•Have and maintain current certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
•Participate in training, (including HIPAA training)
•Serves as a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
•Utilizes Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint for projects as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES For Pharmacist Short Term Iraq:
•Fills prescriptions, verifying instructions from physicians on the proper amounts of medication to be given.
•Manages medication therapy protocols as part of the provider-pharmacist-nurse team.
•Checks for patient drug contraindications. Responsible for verifying dosage regimen for accuracy and specified amount to be within the standard dosing range and frequency.
•Compounds and dispenses medications accurately for delivery to patient care areas.
•Ensures prescriptions are filled accurately and in a timely manner.
•Provides medication information and education to medical staff and patients.
•Participates in medical care conferences as directed by the CMO.
•Maintains the security of controlled substances as well as an accurate log of dispensation, waste, etc.
•Maintains adequate stock levels of medications that are high use (utilization based) to include key medications for unforeseen events such as outbreaks. (Influenza as an example).
•Develops a re-supply system with the senior logistician that ensures critical use (must have) medications are readily available throughout the medical footprint supported.
•Once the prescription is filled, files the prescription.
•Oversees the work of pharmacy technicians.
•Performs administrative functions such as answering phones and stocking shelves.
•Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
•Assists with the managing of day to day activities and prioritizing tasks.
•Operates personal computer to access e-mail, electronic calendars, and other basic office support software.
•Complies with all applicable CHS standards and guidelines.
•All Health Care Providers (HCPs) will document care delivered and follow up care required.
•Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, and new policy requirements.
•Other duties as assigned.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS For Pharmacist Short Term Iraq:
•Complete a Foreign Affairs training course prior to deployments.
•Must have a valid, current U.S. Driver’s License.
•Must have a current U.S. Passport.
•Work hours are based on 45 hr. work week, 9 hours a day 5 days a week.
•Requires a corporate background check, and a favorably adjudicated investigation if required by contract.
•Must sign a CHS Foreign Service Agreement (FSA) and is bound to the terms and conditions of the FSA.
•Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write and communicate in English.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS For Pharmacist Short Term Iraq:
•Must be confirmed by a medical examination to be “medically and dentally fit” in accordance CHS Medical Readiness Guidelines and Policies and/or as dictated by the Client
•No conditions that would prevent the wear of personal protective equipment; including protective mask, ballistic helmet, body armor and chemical/biological protective garments or conditions that would prevent the capability of donning, lifting or carrying of up to 70 lbs. of referenced gear while running to a bunker or protected area in the face of perceived or imminent danger.
•Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment; travel in Iraq is required by surface or air.
•The climate is desert-like, hot, and prone to dust storms.

The VA's National Cemetery Administration maintains 134 national cemeteries in 40 states (and Puerto Rico) as well as 33 soldier's lots and monument sites. Many states have established state veterans cemeteries.

ABMC
administers, operates and maintains 25 permanent American military
cemeteries and 27 federal memorial, monuments and markers, which are
located in 16 foreign countries, the U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern

memorials, most of which commemorate the service and sacrifice of

addition to grave sites, the World War I and II cemeteries, together

Due to the age of honor and color guards and the number of veteran monuments they visit on Memorial Day Monday,
this year the United Veterans Council will NOT have formal ceremonies
and keynote speakers as years past. The charter bus is provided by Beach
Transportation for the honor and color guards and ceremony
participants, but the general public can follow the charter bus from
veteran monument to veteran monument.
NOTE THAT THERE ARE NO SPECIFIC TIMES EXCEPT AT THE START OF THE PROCESSION. THE PROCESSION STARTS AT VFW HEADQUARTERS AT 245 W. MAIN STREET IN MISSOULA at 9:15 a.m. HONOR AND COLOR GUARDS BOARD THE CHARTER BUS. General public follows charter bus in own vehicles.
At
each stop, honor and color guards and other procession participants
will walk up to each veteran monument or overlook. Wreaths and flowers
will be placed at each location. The Star Spangled Banner will be sung
and the Pledge of Allegiance will be said. A prayer will be spoken by
the procession chaplain at the base of each monument or overlook. The
VFW Post 209 Honor Guard will perform the 3-volley shooting of rifles
(commonly known as a 21-gun salute), and the procession will walk slowly
back to the charter bus in formation.

•Coordinate execution of the service delivery planning and lifecycle management process within C4 and other development efforts in alignment with the Marine Corps Information Environment (MCIENT) strategy
•Participate in Joint, DoD, DON, and Marine Corps IT services planning and improvement efforts. Provide planning, oversight and coordination of the Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN)
•Provide coordination and oversight of Joint Information Environment (JIE) implementation and execution
•Provide planning, programming, and coordinating requirements for Secure Operational Network Infrastructure and Communications (SONIC), Marine Corps Enterprise Information Technology Services (MCEITS), Base Telecommunication Infrastructure (BTI) , Marine Corps Software Enterprise License Management Systems (MCSELMS), Marine Corps Common Hardware Suite (MCHS) and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) services, support, and assets Support the reconstitution of the Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet) and Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) for Government Owned/Government Operated (GO/GO) execution
•Support the development, implementation, and communication of Marine Corps IT strategies and plans to support major functions and processes through enterprise service transition, enterprise service strategy, enterprise services IT portfolio management and base telecom support

•Advanced knowledge of complex network infrastructure and IT systems
•Strong analytical and project management skills
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of management

•Strong documentation writing skills (e.g., to write functional deliverables)

•Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in related discipline
•Minimum 15 years’ Network/ IT management experience
•Minimum 3 years’ recent experience supporting Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps
