The "I don't have a deployment" question
Not nearly as many people are getting deployments as there used to be so companies are relaxing on the rule.
- Entry level just requires 3-4 years military now. You'll be starting off at the bottom of the contracting barrel but it's your foot in the door to this world.
- Other contracts want 5 years combat arms if you haven't deployed.
- The higher speed jobs still require deployments or a year down range.
After you get a year down range, companies will usually let you put in for a transfer to the better jobs if they hold the contracts. If you don't have deployments and entry level is all you can get then don't be picky. It's entry level and a good way to get your foot in the door with a company. Show them you're worth your salt and get promoted up. You don't need to stay at entry level. Work hard and get promoted.
