Training Veterans to train their own service dog at absolutely NO CHARGE! – Brooksville, FL 34604

A Service Dog Is A Huge Responsibility
With a service dog, you’ll never walk alone or do anything else alone for that matter. On the journey towards healing, we always feel more confident with a companion. They inspire and encourage us to press on and remind us that there is calm in the midst of the storm. If you’re reading this you’re considering that a service dog may be right for you. However, there are some things you may not have considered.
  • A service dog requires regular visits to the veterinarian, food, training, toys, attention, exercise, and bedding.
  • A service dog is another presence in the household. They must be accepted in the home as a member of the family.

  • If you decide…
  • to begin this journey, your new battle buddy will have little if any training whatsoever. They will need time to develop a routine and learn his or her place in the home and it will need your help to achieve this. This may take several weeks or even months. It will be your job and responsibility to train and care for your service dog.
  • Like you and the members of your household, your dog will need time to adapt to its new home, surroundings, and family. Your new service dog is a commitment. Patience is the tool you’ll need for success.
