Nashville will welcome more than 700 Marines this September for the Corps' annual Marine Week celebration.
Featuring
performances from the Marine Corps Band and displays of its latest
technology, aircraft and other vehicles, the showcase from Sept. 7-11 will offer a number of chances for the public to get familiar with the service branch.
"We're
going to bring so many aspects of the Marine Corps, some you probably
didn’t even know we had," said Tracey Campbell, operations manager for
Marine Week. "There will be a silent drill platoon, the band will be
out, along with a mounted color guard.
"Everything that you might not have known the Marine Corps does, we're going to showcase that."
Each day will begin at 6 a.m. with a reveille, or bugle call, and conclude at 10 p.m.
with the playing of taps. Throughout the day, Marines will conduct
demonstrations around town as well as daily workouts and community
service projects the public is welcome to join.
