Job Description for Sr Information Technology Specialist
SCOPE:
The Sr. Information Technology (IT) Specialist reports to the MSSI Program Manager and will be supervised by the Director, IT. The Sr. IT Specialist will provide information technology support throughout Iraq and the entire MSSI program. The Sr. IT Specialist will be responsible for ensuring all program activities are implemented in a timely manner and will report activities as required.
All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which CHS is recognized.

Required Skills for Sr Information Technology Specialist
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college / university or a minimum 5 years direct experience previous experience in Iraq performing similar duties is desirable.
Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in information technology and some supervisor experience is very desirable.
Have and maintain current certification Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Participate in training, (including HIPAA training).
Working with the in-country I.T. staff to perform day to day support on Microsoft servers.
Strong Desktop background.
Experience in satellite communications strongly desirable.
Experience with Motorola and Condan radio equipment very desirable.
Must have recent experience in the position that is being applied for, for at least 6 months out of the past year.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for Sr Information Technology Specialist:
Perform server patching of servers in the MSSI environment based on corporate guideline and customer directives.
Perform level 2 support of servers and work with Microsoft (level 3) when required.
Support Cisco based network infrastructure for MSSI Task Order.
Support Cisco VoIP phones and understand Call Manager functions.
Support Wireless communications both Cisco and other brands.
Design and maintain cabling infrastructure for Cat 5 and Cat 5E.
Coordinate network changes with internal staff and subcontractors as required.
Work with monitoring system like Solarwinds.
Support Lunix operating system servers.
Performs IT help desk functions.
Confers with managers to obtain information on limitations and capabilities of existing systems and capabilities required projected workload.
Assists with the planning, implementation, and supporting of the network platform and with the installation and maintenance of various Local area networks’ hardware and software infrastructures.
Assists with analyzing requirements for the computer and network systems technology and reviews available vendor offerings to recommend computer and network architecture solutions to the Director – IT.
Assists with the planning of future enhancements to the infrastructure including networking needs, such as hardware software and storage solutions.
Assists with evaluating factors such as number of departments serviced by data processing equipment, required reporting formats, time requirements and cost constraints, and need for security and access restrictions to determine hardware configurations.
Responsible for the day-to-day backup of the network and ensuring the smooth running of the networking process.
May be responsible for training users to use new or modified equipment.
Assists with the managing of day to day activities and prioritizing tasks.

Operates personal computer to access e-mail, electronic calendars, and other basic office support software.
Complies with all applicable CHS standards and guidelines.
Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, and new policy requirements.
IT service providers will document trouble- and other reports, service calls/work performed system or configurations changes.
Maintains the highest regard for patient dignity and observe the precepts of the American Hospital Associations Bill of Rights for patients.
Analyze their organization’s computer needs and recommend possible upgrades to top executives.
Plan and direct installing and upgrading computer hardware and software.
Other duties as assigned.
As assigned, develops policy, procedures and controls to ensure only authorized access and use of (unclassified, secure system). Assists the Director – IT and the Director of Logistics account for and control the client’s computers and other related IT property.
Monitors equipment functions to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.
Ensure the security of an organization’s network and electronic documents.
Learn about new technology and look for ways to upgrade their organization’s computer systems
Determine short- and long-term personnel needs for their department.
Plan and direct the work of other IT professionals, including computer systems analysts, software developers, information security analysts, and computer support specialists.
Negotiate with technology vendors to get the highest level of service for their organization.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS for Sr Information Technology Specialist:
Must have a valid, current U.S. Driver’s License
Must have a current U.S. Passport.
Must sign a CHS Foreign Service Agreement (FSA) and is bound to the terms and conditions of the FSA.
Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write and communicate in English.
Work hours are based on a 72 hr. work week; typically six 12 hour days but other variations may apply.
Requires a favorably adjudicated Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) investigation conducted by the Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security.
Shall attend a Pre-deployment Counter Terrorism training course prior to deployment to Iraq.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS for Sr Information Technology Specialist:
Must be confirmed by a medical examination to be “medically and dentally fit” in accordance CHS Medical Readiness Guidelines and Policies and/or as dictated by the Client.
No conditions that would prevent the wear of personal protective equipment; including protective mask, ballistic helmet, body armor and chemical/biological protective garments or conditions that would prevent the capability of donning, lifting or carrying of up to 70 lbs. of referenced gear while running to a bunker or protected area in the face of perceived or imminent danger.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment; travel in Iraq is required by surface or air.
The climate is desert-like, hot, and prone to dust storms.
