KEY REQUIREMENTS:
•You must possess U.S. Citizenship or be a U.S. National.
•You must complete a favorable Background Investigation (BI).
•You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

DUTIES:
If you are selected for this position, you will serve as either a General Engineer or an Operations Research Specialist (Interdisciplinary) in the TSA Systems Integration Facility (TSIF) Test Section, Operational Test Section, or the Evaluation and Quality Assurance Section within the Test and Evaluation Branch, Operations Support Division, Office of Security Capabilities (OSC), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). You will serve as a technical expert providing advice and guidance in developing procedures and equipment to perform the required work. You will prepare or contribute to the development of comprehensive technical test plans, reports, and other test related documentation and correspondence, and review system requirements to ensure that functional and operational requirements are testable.

Duties will include:
Serving as a representative on Engineering Review Boards to review proposed changes to field and developmental systems, advising on the adequacy of the vendor supplied technical data, and recommending the scope of testing associated with approved system changes.
•Managing contract support resources, laboratory or field activities, and coordinating with other government and industry stakeholders involved in the development and implementation of tests (e.g. test plan, integrated test schedule, test procedures, test reports, site coordination) to ensure test program completion.
•Resolving problems in support of the test program, significant events, and milestones by anticipating major issues, developing mitigation strategies, and coordinating resources to enact a resolution.
•Identifying and assessing the relative risk of shortfalls between current test capabilities and future needs related to the test program.
•Serving as a Test Lead overseeing a portfolio of test and evaluation projects including those supporting major security technology procurements.
•Chairing Data Authentication Groups consisting of multidisciplinary teams established to ensure that data obtained during a test is complete, accurate, consistent, and representative of event activities.
•Chairing working groups and Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) such as the System Evaluation Teams established to evaluate systems or capabilities subject to the Acquisition Review Process.
•Briefing executive leadership on test results and presenting the Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs).
•Participating in budget formulation and program budget execution.

QUAIFICATION REQUIRED:
Basic Requirements for all Operations Research Positions:
Basic Education Requirements: This position requires a degree in Operations Research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 semester hours of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.

Basic Requirements for all Engineer Positions (must meet A or B):
A. Bachelor's or higher degree in professional engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics;(e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
OR B. Combination of education and experience--college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
