Memorial Day was established to honor our war dead and those who died later of wounds incurred during time of war.

Memorial Day was established as a day of remembrance to honor our war dead and those who died later of wounds incurred during time of war.
It is these Veterans of the United States of America who died in sacrafice so you may think, say, act, prosper and worship (or not) in whichever and whatever you please.
Please honor them by joining in ceremonies and services being held this Memorial Day by the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and other Veterans Organizations and family members across the country and around the world.

The VA's National Cemetery Administration maintains 134 national cemeteries in 40 states (and Puerto Rico) as well as 33 soldier's lots and monument sites. Many states have established state veterans cemeteries.
http://www.cem.va.gov/cems/2016_Memorial_Day_Ceremonies.asp

ABMC administers, operates and maintains 25 permanent American military cemeteries and 27 federal memorial, monuments and markers, which are located in 16 foreign countries, the U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the British Dependency of Gibraltar; three of the memorials are located within the United States. These cemeteries and memorials, most of which commemorate the service and sacrifice of Americans who served in World War I and World II, are among the most beautiful and meticulously maintained shrines in the world.
In addition to grave sites, the World War I and II cemeteries, together with the three memorials on U.S. soil, also commemorate by name those U.S. service members who were missing in action, or lost or buried at sea during World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. There are 207,590 U.S. war dead from World War I and World War II commemorated at ABMC sites; this includes 30,922 interments and 4,452 memorializations for World War I, and 93,233 interments and 78,983 memorializations for World War II.

Additionally, the names of 8,200 individuals listed as missing from the Korean War and 2,504 individuals from the Vietnam War are memorialized at ABMC’s Honolulu Memorial. ABMC also administers Mexico City National Cemetery, Corozal American Cemetery in Panama, and Clark Veterans Cemetery in the Philippines. More than 13,500 members of the armed forces, veterans, and others are interred in these sites.

Below is pictures of 20 of the Cemeteries and Memorials.

The charter bus is provided by Beach Transportation for the honor and color guards and ceremony participants, but the general public can follow the charter bus from veteran monument to veteran monument.

NOTE THAT THERE ARE NO SPECIFIC TIMES EXCEPT AT THE START OF THE PROCESSION. THE PROCESSION STARTS AT VFW HEADQUARTERS AT 245 W. MAIN STREET IN MISSOULA at 9:15 a.m.  HONOR AND COLOR GUARDS BOARD THE CHARTER BUS. General public follows charter bus in own vehicles.

At each stop, honor and color guards and other procession participants will walk up to each veteran monument or overlook. Wreaths and flowers will be placed at each location.  The Star Spangled Banner will be sung and the Pledge of Allegiance will be said. A prayer will be spoken by the procession chaplain at the base of each monument or overlook. The VFW Post 209 Honor Guard will perform the 3-volley shooting of rifles (commonly known as a 21-gun salute), and the procession will walk slowly back to the charter bus in formation.
