The Wounded Warrior Project Needs Your Support

Support wwp today!

Many wounds suffered by U.S. service members are not visible, but are just as devastating as visible ones.
Deron Santiny and Steven Miner know that better than anyone. They are both recovering from traumatic brain injuries (TBI).

Deron’s injury was inflicted by an improvised explosive device (IED) at the hands of the enemy. Steven’s injury — a severe blow to the head with a solid steel hook — occurred in an accident during service-related duty. Both brave warriors are working to overcome the challenges they face with help from Wounded Warrior Project™ (WWP) supporters like you.

They join me in thanking you for your past support and in urging you to make a special donation to WWP today so other wounded heroes can receive the help they so urgently need.

In addition to his TBI, Deron suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and endures nightmares, headaches, light sensitivity, and cognitive difficulties like short-term memory loss. Even though his daily life is impacted by these debilitating symptoms, Deron gives thanks for being alive and works with Wounded Warrior Project to assist other wounded veterans. "I want to try to give back as much as I can to help out the younger guys coming back after me."

Steven struggles with intense migraines as a result of his TBI, but this doesn't stop him. "My ambition is to own a funeral home ... to be able to help families when they need it most." Steven began realizing that dream when he participated in the WWP TRACK™ education program. This program gave him the chance to begin his education in an environment uniquely designed to meet the needs of injured warriors and provided an opportunity to intern at a funeral home.

You help make dreams a reality by sustaining programs that address the needs of warriors suffering with TBI and PTSD. On behalf of wounded service members, I can never thank you enough for your support.

As the number of injured in Afghanistan continues to grow, I know you will not forget these brave warriors. Please support WWP today.

Thank you,
